The thing about the internet is that you can have the semblance of anonymity. You can set it up so that your friends, family, acquaintances don't know it's you. This creates a kind of freedom to say what you really think without fear of hurting someone, or saying something inappropriate. It also lets you be honest about your feelings, no matter how deranged...
I am a semi-normal person with a spouse and children and I would say I am middle aged, or near middle aged. I don't believe in god, Santa, or the tooth fairy, but I appreciate the need for these stories to have been told in certain points in history for the greater good. I really think that we would all be fine if we could follow the rule to treat others as you wish to be treated (and I know there is some version of this in the bible - my atheism doesn't restrict me from such truisms).
I need this blog to express my disillusionment with life. Things have not turned out at all how I expected.
